At 16 years old, Sonia gained recognition as an outstanding young talent in the performing arts field. After receiving the Drama Cup for her high school, Sonia went on to pursue further performing arts tuition through Excel School of Performing Arts. With training in BBO Tap, BBO Ballet & NZAMD Jazz to Solo Seal level. Sonia studied privately under the tutelage of the legendary Dorne Arthur & achieved Grade 8 Distinction as well as a Performance Certificate in Speech & Drama from Trinity College of London.

 Many years later, Sonia is most proud of creating a successful dance studio in the heart of Asia, Hong Kong. Sonia thrives as Company Director, using her a diverse range of talents in costume design, script writing, teaching, mentoring & developing curriculum. Sonia would describe her highlight of the role as “seeing the kids shine and overcome, to become the best they can be.”

Sonia relocated to New Plymouth, with her husband Ben & their 6 children, in early 2020.
